Course
content
|
This learner resource is divided into three sections.
·
Section 1 discusses identification of burning
requirements including identification of target areas and the development of
burn objectives for life and property protection, forest and environmental
management.
·
Section 2 discusses steps involved in preparing
a prescribed burn plan and strategies, tactics and tasks.
·
Section 3 covers monitoring arrangements that
should be considered prior to, during and after implementation of a
prescribed burn.
Each state/territory and agency will have its own protocols
and procedures for developing prescribed burning plans. It is important to
remember that each prescribed burn plan should be considered within a broader
context. Implementation of the burn plan is addressed in the Learning
