Public and private sector
organisations are required to adhere to and implement a range of policies
directly related to their business. These policies provide a framework for
action in the workplace by enabling individuals to undertake the work they
are required to do. It is important to have an understanding of how policies
and plans are formulated and implemented so that you can contribute both as
an individual and as part of a work team.
This CD
is support material aligned with the learner resource. The CD comprises of a
powerpoint suitable for group training. In collaboration with the learner
resource this CD has been developed for the unit of competency PAUFIR504B
Assist with formation and implementation of plans and policies. The content
covers the skills and knowledge required to consult, develop, implement and
evaluate a policy or plan for an organisation.

Course
content
|
The content is divided into five sections as follows.

Section 1 provides an introduction to the key terms used in
relation to policy and the documents within the workplace that support its
implementation, i.e. plans, procedures and practices.
·
Section 2 describes the eight stages of the policy cycle
and how government and organisations develop policy.
·
Section 3 discusses strategic and business planning and how
policy is integrated into this process
·
Section 4 provides an overview of how to monitor and
evaluate the administration and implementation of policy and procedures and
how to facilitate policy change.
·
Section 5
describes a process for the writing of formal submissions.
